Read the playfield in layers

Aiming and capture are separate ideas

Watch for a change in the selected mode and the cost display, and distinguish a visual effect from a confirmed reward. A dramatic screen event does not necessarily mean every nearby target has paid.

Use a pause to understand the result

When the screen becomes crowded, stop firing and review the balance or result information. This creates a clearer boundary between actions than continuing to shoot while trying to count outcomes.
